Welcome! My name is Amanda L. Benko, NCTMB, LMT, Owner of Full Circle Spa & Bodyworks, established 2005.
As a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworker and a Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapist, my goal is to provide customized therapeutic sessions to individuals and businesses by empowering self-care, through engineering the art and science of massage, spa and bodywork therapies.
When I first started out in the big world of learning I earned my Associates in Electronics Engineering and PACE surface mount soldering technology Certification from Lincoln Technical Institute, as well as earning a diploma in Computer Networking from McCann School of Business and Technology, working in this field for 7 years.
After these 7 years, finding myself at a cross roads where I wanted to continue to help people, however in a deeper way, feed their souls, and mine. Spend more time with my family and friends. Doing the things I love. Be more in control of my schedule and income. After some prayers, ok a lot of prayers, and conversations with the universe, I was invited to an at-home spa party. Went not knowing what to expect and at the time I did have a Certification in Skin and Spa Consultation from another company. I had a wonderful time. These products were spa quality, a great price and very results driven. With the knowledge I had of my great grandparents owning businesses and previous knowledge of massage therapy, coupled with these amazing at home spa quality products, where if you are familiar with most direct sale companies, you are not allowed to apply or touch customers using products unless you have a Certification or License to do so. This is when it happened! With encouragement, I put it all together! Everything fell into place. Thank you UNIVERSE!
Over the next few months I researched local schools, decided on my massage school to attend, selected the degree program and here we are 15 yrs later!! I earned my Associates Degree in Specialized Business for Professional Massage Therapy Specialist at Keystone Technical Institute in Harrisburg, PA in 2007. Shortly after earning my National Certification through taking one of the required board exams at the time through NCBTMB, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. The process of Licensure in PA for Massage Therapy started only a few short years ago, in 2011 so this is pretty exciting to see happen during my career as its been a long hard road and going through red tape to get our Massage Licensure Board established here in PA. My practice philosophies are taken from Yogi Bhajan, "You're more than the greatness you have, you are the greatness you give." And Hippocrates, “Above all, do no harm.” I believe in that I am more than what I have, I am the gift of giving. Giving positive energy, kind words, a smile and a loving, nurturing, therapeutic touch.
A lot of people on my journey have asked me, "Why or what made you go from Engineering and Computers to Massage Therapy?" Well, my answer, is simply this. Whether computers, electronics or the human body, it’s all troubleshooting. Massage Therapy is another tool in my tool box to provide assistance in the healing process for the most important piece of equipment we will ever have the honor of owning. Once you know how something is supposed to work. You follow a certain set of criteria related to the specific concerns and goals of an individual for pain relief, stress relief, flexibility or range of motion concerns.
Implementing "If this then that scenarios" along with the honest Medical History Form from your client, coupled with an innate, or obsessive ability troubleshoot then you are on your way to an excellent start of a wellness program based on the specific needs of the client within the Scope of Practice for Massage Therapists.
Other than being a Business Owner, Massage Therapist, an Instructor and an Advanced Belief Clearing Practitioner, I am a Mom to a beautiful young lady. I love to read, pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I love the beach and being at the pool, watching movies, singing and smiling...that's my favorite and making others laugh.
Thanks for reading along. I do hope you enjoyed, and do hope to see you soon. Relaxing, rejuvenating and renewing!
